Reading: The Journey Into Books

The first thing that people learn about me when they met me is that I read non-stop. I always have a book in my bag, hands, car, etc. There is always a book near-by because it is my most common pastime. I am very picky about my books. If the first chapter or two doesn't capture my attention, I usually only read it for a chapter or two more but then stop (unless I have to read it for school). Even if it is one of those books that the first chapter sucks, but the rest of the book is amazing, my mind is still tainted by the memory of that one bad chapter, that I just can't get into the rest of the book (the power of suggestion!) However if I have to read it for school, I press on in spite of everything, but I usually don't enjoy the book after that.

Now onto my reading area. If I can't find a good reading place, I simply don't read. However since I love reading so much, I can usually read in almost any environment, so it isn't often a problem for me. Although I usually can't read when the t.v is on. Strange considering that I can read when people are shouting, with music on, during a football game, during half of a car ride (the other half I am recovering from motion sickness), end even with any annoying sisters poking and prodding me. But not with the t.v on. When that happens I either stop and watch the t.v, or if it is a really good book I go into the other room.

Considering I basically already covered most of my reading style in the paragraph before, this paragraph should be short. I don't like reading aloud in school. I figured I better get that out. I despise it. I read very fast so when we read in class it is one of the most boring things ever (besides waiting for a doctor's appointment, or math). It is so much easier for me if we just get time to read in class. Ok...that's its.

To answer the last question for me is not like asking why we breathe, its more like why we live. Reading is my life, it's my 'thing', its my entertainment, my escape, my buddy, my life. It's hard to explain how much I love reading. Most people think 'wow, she loves to read a lot,' but it's more than that. I can get into the stories. When I'm reading, it feels like I am that main character. I am the one saying those words, doing those things. It may seem a bit childish to do that, I admit, but I can't help it. When I read it just happens, and then I am in another world. It might appeal to me so much because my life is boring, or maybe because I get bored easily, I don't know. But I do know that if books didn't exist........my world would probably implode. :)

I'm not crazy I promise.........................I think

The End

P.S. I really like blue

It's over now......stop wasting your life...go read a book...or something...

WHY ARE YOU STILL READING!!! YOUR LIFE IS PATHETIC!!!!
